Coming soon is the release of another musical drama of mine:
"Orlando Goes Mad: How Italian Puppets Saved the World."
My Granddaughter, Teresa Loomis, and I are members of the Puppeteers of America, whose membership includes the celebrated puppeteer, TONY URBANO.
A central character in "Orlando Goes Mad" is a high school history teacher who appears in costume as the clown, Pierrot, the pantomime artist in white pantaloons who captivated French audiences in the 1840's and was performed by Jean Louis Barrault in the French movie of the 1940's, "Les Enfants du Paradis" [The Children of Paradise]. A photograph of Tony Urbano's remarkably human and lifelike marionette of Pierrot was published in the Fall 2007 issue of The Puppetry Journal (p. 17).
